Reincarnation

Many ancient traditions say that human beings reincarnate in life after life on earth. Do we believe in reincarnation? Have we ever had any past-life experiences of our own?

Here is what I believe: just as people age in life, I believe that people can be old or young souls, no matter what age they are currently on this Earth. You are an old soul if you have had many past lives. You are a young soul if you are at the beginning of your journey. People frequently refer to others as being "old souls" and I believe it is because they have lived before and learned. You have these lives to learn from your previous mistakes. Reincarnation is a larger interpretation of what the cycle of life is.

I belive that those people who you automatically "click" with are souls you knew in another lifetime. These are the people you somehow trust right away. Why else would you implicitly trust someone you have never met before? While you may not have memories of that soul, there is a stronger connection, something else at work in your relationship.

The traditional teachings about reincarnation are actually not what they are made to be. Your own Web site has that quote from the Buddha: "I have not taught that there is reincarnation, I have not taught that there is NOT reincarnation."

In one sense there is such a thing as reincarnation: life is one, undiviided. It comes into being, produces its many forms, then dies, only to come to new life again.

Yes, there is such a thing as reincarnation. But there is only One Being who reincarnates, over and over again, in all of us.

Past life experience..

I don't think that I have ever had a past life experience, but at times in my life I have encountered someone that I feel as if I have known for ever, from the moment I met them. That makes me feel like there is more rhyme or reason to the universe than this life. I don't know if its reincarnation, but it's definately something beyond my comprehension.

i havent had them...

and i dont believe that others do either. i think its just strange that people sit and think about things like that! even if it were true (which id ont think it is) what matters is getting thru this life, this time!

I do not think it is foolish to think about the after life. It is not a waste of time either.

I believe in reincarnation.

Dreams

I am into dream interpretation. In my dreams I have experienced past lives.

are dreams just snippets of past lives woven into snippets of current ones? and the magic is the interstitial space between lives, the supernatural? that's a cool idea

Reincarnation

I believe that we have to earn the right to reincarnate. If you have experinced or lived on earth and not done the will of god then you will not be allowed to experince or contribute (what may not have been the truth) somewhere else(ie another planet with intelligentlife on it). I certainly don't believe that we can reincarnate as animals because for the most part other creatures have no desire to be like us (or won't allow us to be like them) because they(other creatures on earth know that the majority of human beings are usually evil towards them.
